3Y yttrium stabilized nano-zirconia is currently the most widely used biomedical material. The high period denture stabilized zirconia is characterized not only by its high fracture strength (>1000 MPa), high fracture toughness (>10 MPa·m1/2), but also by significantly reducing the behavior of slow cracks. The yttrium-stabilized zirconia fired porcelain block has high light transmission, strong jade texture and high whitening, and can be well matched with the human tooth color. It is extremely suitable for milling with manual grinders or CAD/CAM equipment.
Compared with traditional dental ceramic materials, yttria-stabilized zirconia polycrystalline ceramics (Y-TZP) with high ytterbium (Y2O3) as a stabilizer have metastable tetragonal zirconia to monoclinic zirconia (m) - ZrO2) stress-induced phase transformation toughening, with high toughness, has received widespread attention. High-transparent stabilized zirconia for dentures is an excellent high-tech biomaterial. It is currently recognized that dentures are better than high-permeability zirconia for dentures, regardless of price or quality.
